The Case

Giant footprints are appearing all over town: in the library flower beds, right up to the back door of the bakery. The town renames its fall festival “Bigfoot Days,” a TV crew rolls in, and hunters with flashlights flood the forest.

Then a tip reaches the agency, second-hand: Bigfoot needs detectives. He is very large, very hairy, and smells powerfully of broccoli, and he insists the footprints are not his.

To clear his name, TJ and Nolan will need a tape measure, a brand-new fingerprint kit, and the hardest skill of all: checking before you speak.

“Sasquatch” is another name for Bigfoot. It comes from a word in Halkomelem, a language of the Pacific Northwest. Neither name is what he calls himself.
