The Case

The sign on the treehouse door is hand-painted, a little crooked, and officially official. Ten-year-old TJ Walden and his eight-year-old brother, Nolan, are open for business as TJ and Nolan’s Detective Agency for Monsters. All they need is a case.

Then the town librarian leaves a letter in their mailbox. Her secret friend, a sea-blue alicorn named Alara, has disappeared, on the very night a traveling circus rolled into town.

To find her, the brothers will have to go undercover, follow a trail of glowing feathers, outwit a Ringmaster with a waxed mustache, and figure out how to catch the moon in a mirror, all before the circus leaves town for good.

An alicorn has the body of a horse, the horn of a unicorn, and the wings of something that has somewhere to be. They are rarer than unicorns, and considerably rarer than donkeys in blue paint.
